( The video fades into the backstage of the Volume 4 venue, as we see Angela Vixon approaching a tired, battered, but joyful Xander Payne. Payne had just defeated Adam Wolf to retain his championship in a classic, making his first successful title defence. )
Angela Vixon: Hello Xander Payne, I’m Angela Vixon and I’d like to ask you a few questions if you don’t mind.
Xander Payne: Oh, right, this is that interview thing I heard about… Well go on! Ask me your questions, I’m in a good mood.
Angela Vixon: Well, Xander, you just defended your title successfully against the debuting Adam Wolf, what are your immediate thoughts on the match and Wolf?
Xander Payne: Angela, I’m gonna act like you didn’t ask me about that other dude, whatever his name was, because guess what? I just stole the whole damn show. I just had one of the top 2 best matches in RW history, and you wanna know what the other one was? That’s right, it was the triple threat that I won at Volume 2. They say that professional wrestling is a two man sport, its collaborative, or whatever, but the truth is, all my matches that I’ve had so far, I’ve carried, and that. That is why I am still your Render Wrestling Heavyweight Champion.
( Xander Payne takes a breather, obviously still tired from his match, before continuing. )
Xander Payne: So, all that being considered, the first thing you ask me about, is my OPPONENT? I thought you were supposed to be good at this, Angela. If you watched that show, you would know that I was the standout, I was the point of interest, I bring the money into this company, not… Aaron Wolf or whatever you called him.
Angela Dixon: It was Adam Wolf, and I apologise for anything I said, but moving on, Mr. Mustang announced at Volume 4 that your Troubleshoot opponent will be either Damian Drake, Colton Pierce, Alex Irvine or Itazura, as they compete in a Fatal 4 Way Elimination Match. What is your response to this announcement?
( Xander Payne chuckles before responding. )
Xander Payne: Welp, apparently Troubleshoot is gonna be an easy night for me. It baffles me that those 4 got a shot after their disrespectful acts last volume, but what baffles me even more is that Mustang thinks that any single one of them can hold a candle to me, cause they can’t, and let me explain to you why. Let’s start off with Colton Pierce. Colton thinks he is a big deal, but he isn’t. Colton’s not a Viper, he is just an annoying little pest. A pest, that mind you, I already destroyed at the first volume. And yeah, he RKO’d me in my title match, but that was just simply nothing more than the biggest mistake of his life, cause frankly I hope he wins. I hope he wins just so I could bash him again. And that brings us to Damian Drake, this kid won one match against a trash athlete like Denis Ryley, who I also beat, and apparently that’s worthy of a title shot. Drake, your naivety will be your downfall, because at the end of the day, you ain’t good enough to hang with the adults.
( Xander takes a moment to collect his thoughts. )
Itazura. All the hype is surrounding this apparent Japanese ‘Legend’ but you know, when I stared down with him at my championship celebration, I didn’t see a legend. I didn’t see a man who is on the ‘Top Rank’ of this industry like he thinks he is. All I saw was an overrated, overhyped piece of trash. He might have been big in Japan, but here he has done nothing! Me? I am an Icon! I am an American Hero, and it’s disgraceful that because of some apparent clause in his contract, Itazura gets a shot at contendership for RW’s first ever PPV. This man has no wins here, yet he gets to potentially main event Troubleshoot against me? Bullshit. But… speaking of no wins… Alex Irvine. The fan favourite, the self proclaimed BEST IN THE WORLD! But let me ask you this one question Alex, if you are truly the Best In The World…..
( Xander gestures towards his title on his shoulders as he continues speaking. )
Xander Payne: …then why do you not have THIS? This is the Render Wrestling WORLD Heavyweight Championship, and me having this means that I am the best, it’s means that I am the greatest, and it means that I. am. better. than you! And you know these idiotic people on the internet want to suggest that I, Xander Payne don’t deserve this championship. They say I stole Alex Irvine’s win, but I say that I almost got screwed by a pesky snake, but got right back up and made myself the ultimate opportunist when I gave Irvine a concussion and sidelined him. And furthermore, if any of you STILL think that I stole from him, go watch the match that I just had, and you won’t see the ‘cheater’ that you all perceive me to be, you will see a monster. You will see a destroyer. You will see, A TRUE CHAMPION!
( Payne calms himself down as Angela Dixon prepares to ask another question before getting interrupted. )
Xander Payne: Now, I think that’s enough for the day. Get out of my face woman.
( Xander re-adjusts his championship before confidently walking away as the camera fades to black. )
