vMVP: Vol. 3

We are on the road to Render Wrestling’s first ever PPV, Troubleshoot and championship contenders are being determined and bridges are being burned. On yet another Volume, Render Wrestling brought explosive action to the scene with the singles in-ring debut of Jake Cross and the epic tag team main event.

Denis Ryley vs. Damian Drake | ★★★

To start off the longest Volume yet, Denis Ryley would represent The Cross tonight in a match against the dynamic highflyer, Damian Drake. Throughout this match, these two exchanges rough blows, twisting holds, and devastating slams. Either it was at ringside or inside the squared circle, these two tested their physical and mental limits. As things calmed down, Denis Ryley was looking to end the match, but Damian Drake exhausted him with a number of strikes, running through him as he connected the Dragon Twist Cutter to get the victory. In this match, Damian Drake proved why is he one of the best highfliers in this promotion, maybe even one of the best overall. During Damian’s celebration, Mr. Mustang appeared on the titantron, announcing that he created a new championship belt, the Braveheart Championship. He also announced at Troubleshoot, the inaugural holder of this championship will be determined.

Dan Gunshot vs. Mark Macias | ★★★

Dan Gunshot has had an impressive run in RW thus far. At Volume 3, he planned to continue this run against Mark Macias, the self-proclaimed A-Lister. The two went back and forth in a nice match, but just when things were going Dan's way, Mark Gracias (Macias' stunt double) interfered. Gracias would have handed the win to Mark Macias, if it wasn't for Chris Roberts coming in for the save, taking him off the apron. In the end, Dan Gunshot was able to hit his running knee strike, and secure the victory, giving him even more momentum for the future.

Jake Cross vs. Martin Hunter | ★★★

Martin Hunter, a so far undefeated competitor, took on one-half of the Render Wrestling Gemini Tag Team Champions, Jake Cross. These two went back and forth, with Cross managing to work his way out of Hunter’s Chickenwing submission hold, as well escaping the Crossbreaker finisher. After a gruesome series of brutality and resilience, Martin Hunter was able to lock in the Chickenwing, causing Cross to submit. With this impressive victory now under his resume, he has been given the opportunity to become the inaugural Braveheart Champion at Troubleshoot, while Cross gained another loss. Leading into RW’s first ever pay-per-view, the bone manipulating Martin Hunter has a lot of momentum on his side. While Jake Cross came up short on his singles match debut, it is expected for things to turn around from now on, as he and his partner Denis Ryley prepare to defend their RW Gemini Tag Team Championships for the first time at Troubleshoot.

King Travis Carter making his way to the ring

Travis Carter and Colton Pierce

vs. Keisuke and Johnny Bones | ★★★★

To conclude the series of competitive matches, Johnny Bones combined forces with Keisuke to face King Travis Carter and Colton Pierce. The Phenomenal One and The King have been in somewhat of a heated rivalry, but Carter and Pierce were able to rack up a victory in what was a long, methodical match. At the start of the match, Carter blindsided Bones and followed up with the Royal Awakening right onto the ringside concrete, which benched Bones out for a lot of the match, leaving Keisuke to fend for himself. Against the two men, he managed to deliver a good fight until Carter targeted his knees, becoming a focal point and a foreshadowing to what is to come. Halfway into the match, Bones inserted himself back into the match with a flurry of offense. However, the damage has already been done by his opponents, who had annihilated Keisuke’s knees. Therefore, after the Japanese sensation, Keisuke would underestimate the status of his knees as it gave out, leaving him to the wolves. Travis took advantage of this, connecting with the second Royal Awakening this match to win the match. After the match, Travis sealed the deal, brutally decimating the knees of Keisuke even more with a chair, inflicting enough damage to put Keisuke onto the shelf of injuries. However, the message he was trying to deliver backfired, as he was given an indefinite suspension. With the success of the makeshift team with King Travis Carter and Colton Pierce, is the rivalry between Bones and Carter truly over? Hopefully, we will find out soon enough.

For the first time ever, a Volume would conclude without a main event match, as Xander Payne commemorated the main event slot to his newly-won Render Wrestling Championship with a celebration. Payne had a long, elaborate entrance with the championship, followed up by a speech about how he wanted to prove himself to his children, announcing he would defend the championship in the next volume in an RW Championship Open Challenge. After this, he would be interrupted by Alex Irvine, a man who he has faced in the past, followed up by the appearances of Damian Drake and Colton Pierce who are all interested in competing for his championship. However, the surprise of the night would be the arrival of Render Wrestling’s newest signee, Itazura, also known as the ‘Top Rank’. Being the biggest and baddest of them all in the Japanese world of professional wrestling, he has arrived in the western world to try his hand against a whole new field of talent, making his presence known in the biggest way possible as he stared down the champ to end the night off.

vMVP #3 | King Travis Carter

If you ask all of the Render Wrestling fans on what they remember about this programme, it would be the buzz Carter created. Not only did he beat two of RW’s best, he did it in style with Colton Pierce on his side. He created the most controversy when he permanently injured the left knee of Keisuke, putting him on the shelf. From Denis Ryley to Xander Payne, King Travis Carter definitely deserves to be apart of the list of those athletes. King Travis Carter is a future world champion in the premises of Render Wrestling.
